Wunderland Stories

The Taunus Wunderland was founded on 12 May 1966 originally as an Enchanted Forest and Petting Zoo with partly exotic animals.

In 1998 the park was taken over by the family of Otto Barth, still current owners. Their family background as longtime carnival exhibitors travelling Europe provided them with wide-ranging experience in the entertainment field, all to the profit of the park visitors.

The amazons and parrots as well as goats and sheep are partly still remnants of the park’s original population of animals. They are, of course, being kept appropriate to their species. In 2010 they were joined by two donkeys. And then it happened again. These two had an offspring in 2012, a female donkey named Caren.

The park for children from 3 to 6 years of age evolved into an adventure park for all age groups and families. That’s how the former Enchanted Forest became the Taunus Wunderland Adventure Park, full of attractions. The surrounding spacious woods offer additional roaming space for nature-lovers and explorers.
